What is Active Balancing (Non-lossy Balancing)

Active balancing transfers energy from cells with higher energy to those with lower energy, achieving voltage balance with minimal energy loss. It operates continuously, regardless ofcharging, discharging, or idle states, until the voltage difference is within a set range.

Since it involves energy transfer without heat generation, active balancing can use larger currents (commonly 1-2A) without affecting cooling. It is more suitable for larger capacitybattery packs due to longer balancing times and higher currents.
